Mitsubishi Screens

Name. Byname. Abbreviation

Mitsubishi screen, bucket type, basket type, rotary type, traveling screen

Overview of Equipment

Thermal and nuclear power stations located by the seashore use a huge amount of seawater for cooling.
Mitsubishi Screens are indispensable for seawater intake screening to ensure safe operation by removing seaweed, fish, jellyfish, etc. from the seawater.
Mitsubishi Screens are capable of efficiently and thoroughly removing dirt and refuse to provide clean seawater even under severe intake conditions.
Recently, the new ¡ÈCompact Series¡É of Mitsubishi Screens was developed as a product of proven technology backed by 40 years¡Ç experience in the manufacture of screens and the current use of about 800 units.
The Compact Series comprises new screens developed with the design concepts of ¡Èsuperior performance,¡É ¡Èmore reliable operation,¡É ¡Èhigher safety,¡É ¡Èeasier maintenance¡É and ¡Èlonger life¡É than conventional large-size screens.

Features

  1. Maximum screening capacity is large: More than twice that of conventional screens.
  2. Net (filtration) area is large: More than 1.5 times as large as conventional screens.
  3. Rise in water level due to dirt and refuse at intake is limited: Nearly 1/2 that of conventional screens.
  4. Flushing water requirement is small: Dedicated spray nozzle is used.
  5. Galvanized for corrosion protection: Longer life, quicker and less expensive routine inspection.
  6. Use of basket carrier chain specially designed for increased durability.
  7. Adjustability of operating speed with pole change motor and inverter motor.
  8. Variety of flushing methods, i.e., rear/front/down spray, etc.
  9. Energy-saving system using booster pump.
  10. Driving shaft resistive to repeated fatigue stress with precut solid shaft end.
  11. 4-point structure with minimum number of wear parts
  12. Remote-controlled monitoring system
Galvanized
